On Wednesday, the Defence Headquarters mentioned at the least 34 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists had been killed in a fierce battle at Sabon Gari Group, Damboa Native Authorities Space of Borno State.

“On Saturday, January 4, 2025, an unspecified variety of ISWAP/BHT terrorists driving on bikes and gun vehicles engaged troops deployed in Sabon Gari Village of Damboa Native Authorities Space of Borno State in a firefight.

“The terrorists had tried to shock troops and retaliate the current killing of their commander and combatants by troops.
“The terrorists had been taken unaware when troops’ preventing patrol, returning to base, foiled their deliberate assault as quickly because the assault commenced. Moreover, a reinforcement workforce comprising parts of the Civilian Joint Taskforce, vigilante, and hybrid forces arrived on the scene in time to overpower the terrorists,” the assertion learn.
In keeping with the Protection spokesman, the reinforcement workforce encountered an improvised explosive gadget, injuring the vigilante commander, including that they arrived in time to decimate the fleeing terrorists.
Buba added that the air part of Operation Hadin Kai performed air interdiction on the fleeing terrorists.
He acknowledged that battle injury assessments revealed that 34 terrorists had been killed, with 23 AK-47 rifles and over 200 rounds of seven.62mm particular ammunition recovered.
